The Event Showcase is a great way to find how other organisations, communities, friends and families are celebrating National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day right across Australia.

If you want to promote your own local event, simply fill out the event registration and let everyone know how you’re going to celebrate our little ones on 4 August. 


Western Australian Gould League

The WA Gould League will be hosting a special Indigenous Children’s Day event on Sunday 4 August at the Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre (Cnr Flynn & Selby Streets, Wembley), from 2-4pm. They will have a range of natural and cultural activities, including performances by Boorloo Aboriginal Cultural Experience’s Little Doorum Dance Group and much more. Entry is $5/person or free for Friends of the WA Gould League.

Women’s Health and Family Services

City of Armadale/Champion Centre

The Children’s Day celebration will involve a sausage sizzle, bouncy castle, animal farm, elders and service providers. It will be held at the Harold King Centre, 9 Grovelands Drive, Camilo WA.

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day will be celebrated on Monday 5 August at Boomerang Oval, Newman WA from 10am-1pm. There will be free food, entertainment and activities.


Wanslea Family Services

In conjunction with Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, City of Mandurah, Anglicare and local organisations will be holding a series screening of Little J & Big Cuz along with children’s activities and afternoon tea on Sunday 4 August 2019.


Coolangarras Barmah Kindy

Coolangarras Kindy is having a National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day fun day and inviting another kindy class to join in. Community members are coming to set up and run different activities for the children to participate in. Their focus will be learning from their ancestors and playing on the land with members of their community. The children will each receive a Children’s Day bag.


Wananami Remote Community School

They will hold a family fun day filled with Ngarinyin language games, art and dancing. On Children’s Day they aim to highlight the benefits of being a child on Ngarinyin Country.
