Bunyaville Environmental Education Centre
Every year, Bunyaville Environmental Education Centre (a Department of Education school in north-west Brisbane) hosts Indigenous students and year 6 leaders from Albany Hills State School to celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day. This year they are working with Indigenous artist Melinda Serico to paint totem poles that will form an art installation at their centre. They can’t wait to welcome the students on Thursday 1 August.

The event will include circus performers, story telling and yarning, a smoking ceremony and dance workshop as well as many stallholders from community organisations with activities for children aged 0-5 years old. The event will be free and include a visit from their police, ambulance and fire officers and a free sausage sizzle plus much much more.
