The Event Showcase is a great way to find how other organisations, communities, friends and families are celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day right across Australia.

If you want to better promote your own local event, simply fill out the event registration and let everyone know how you’re going to celebrate our little ones on 4 August.


YWCA Currawong

The event will be held at 41 Sydney Avenue, Barton ACT and will involve a range of experiences including art, dancing and storytelling.


Hurstville Early Learning Centre

We play: Children will be participating in traditional Aboriginal games.
We learn: Children will be learning a traditional song in Dharawal with actions.
We belong: Children will be sharing stories in our designated yarning space about their families and learning our updated acknowledgement of country.

There’s a Child in All of Us 🎈

Petrina will be holding a Children’s Day event at Flip Out, Smeaton Grange, Anderson Road NSW, on Sunday 4 August from 12-4pm. The event will celebrate loving and supporting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children through play, learning and belonging. “We’re bringing families back together.”


Stokes Street Montessori Academy

Stokes Street Academy will hold an event on 2 August. They will invite parents and organise some fun games with children to teach them about Aboriginal culture.


IFYSS – Pathfinders

Children’s Day will be celebrated with a day in the park as part of a weekly supported playgroup which is held in Ashford, with morning tea provided. They will hold a pot decorating and flower planting activity for children.


Girls Academy

Girls Academy students will help host an event at Marang Gunya Community Centre with a local Aboriginal playgroup.


Woolworths Merimbula

For Children’s Day they will have a barbecue and do some art work with kids involving calico squares, some washable paint spray, red, black and yellow hand prints, and print out flags.


Pied Piper Preschool

Goodstart Carlton
