80 of their beauiful babies will be welcomed to community and presented to Elders. This is their fifth anniversary and will be lead by the Awabakal family health team at the AMS. This is a major event on the Newcastle Indigenous calendar and they are expecting a record number of guests and plenty of media attention.
Also in line with the theme this year they will be including their playgroup, pre-school and primary children in the days activities to show the journey of our families with our Awabakal community.
More importantly they get to celebrate the birth of their future generations and give them all a beautiful start to life with a blessing and acknowledgment from Elders and community. A sense of belonging they hope will carry them through their journey in life.
