We will be celebrating Children’s Day with a display, activities for children and adults, cookies and Witchetty Grubs for tasting. The event will be held on Tuesday 7 August 10.30am – Campus Library at TasTAFE, 41-43 Mooreville Road, Burnie TAS.

Flinders Island – FIAAI (Mums & Bubs Group)
FIAAI will celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s day, on Friday the 3rd August with a BBQ, a collaborative piece of art produced on the day, music, story telling and games.

Hobart – The Friends’ School
Two of our Year 6 students have a leadership role of raising Indigenous awareness across the primary school. They will speak in assembly and address all the primary school and parents about the significance of ATSI Children’s Day. They have then organised all students across grades in ‘vertical groups’ to work with a Year 6 student. Students will learn about the creation of Trowunna and cultural practices of the Tasmania Aboriginal people. Students will create a mural to be placed at the school.

No. 34 Aboriginal Health Service is celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day with a family BBQ, activities and traditional crafts at Fairway Park (Dino Park) on Beach Road in Ulverstone on Friday the 3rd August from 12-2pm. Come along and join us!
