Adelaide – Aboriginal Family Support Services
AFSS are holding a Connection to Culture Aboriginal Children’s Day at Tauondi Aboriginal College on Friday 3 August 2018 to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day. The event will feature a wide range of cultural activities and is designed specifically for Carers of Aboriginal Children and Aboriginal families to empower them and assist them in ensuring that Aboriginal children are kept connected to, and safe in culture. National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day (Children’s Day) is the largest national day to celebrate our children.

Kirton Point – Kirton Point Children’s Centre (Nunga Playgroup)
On Tuesday the 31st July, Nunga playgroup will facilitate a playgroup specifically focused on celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. We will celebrate the strengths and culture of the children who attend.
Fun activities will be setup, transport and lunch is provided. Tuesday 31st July 11.30am – 1.00pm.

Littlehampton – The Learning Sanctuary Littlehampton
We will be celebrating Children’s Day with an Art Display. Our child care will create their own paintings and artwork about the Children’s Day theme and display them for everyone to enjoy.

Whyalla Norrie – Gabmididi Manoo Children and Family Centre
The preschool children at Gabmididi Manoo Children and Family Centre will be hosting the Assembly at Hincks Avenue Primary School. At the Assembly the children will show the school children how we do our Acknowledgment to Country, we will play a PowerPoint that we have developed that celebrates all of the children at our Centre and also perform the song Red, Black and Yellow. Some of the children with educators support will talk about National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’s Day addressing the theme and the significance of the day.
On the following Wednesday we will invite the Reception children from Hincks Avenue Primary School to our Centre to come and sit around our fire and have a yarn with us, make some damper, have a cup of milo and toast some marshmallows.
The Assembly will happen on the 3rd of August, 2018 at Hincks Avenue Primary School and the Campfire on the 8th of August, 2018 at Gabmididi Manoo Children and Family Centre.
