The Event Showcase is a great way to find how other organisations, communities, friends and families are celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day all across Australia!
If you want to better promote your own local event, simply fill out the event registration and let everyone know how you’re going to celebrate our little ones on 4 August.

Whyalla Norrie – Gabmididi Manoo Children and Family Centre
The preschool children at Gabmididi Manoo Children and Family Centre will be hosting the Assembly at Hincks Avenue Primary School. At the Assembly the children will show the school children how we do our Acknowledgment to Country, we will play a PowerPoint that we have developed that celebrates all of the children at our Centre and also perform the song Red, Black and Yellow. Some of the children with educators support will talk about National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’s Day addressing the theme and the significance of the day.
On the following Wednesday we will invite the Reception children from Hincks Avenue Primary School to our Centre to come and sit around our fire and have a yarn with us, make some damper, have a cup of milo and toast some marshmallows.
The Assembly will happen on the 3rd of August, 2018 at Hincks Avenue Primary School and the Campfire on the 8th of August, 2018 at Gabmididi Manoo Children and Family Centre.
