At Preschool 41-43 Hall Avenue Collaroy Plateau
We will be cooking damper on a campfire and talking about how the English settlers learnt about damper making from the traditional owners of the land. We will talk about the Guringai people having maybe cooked and hunted on the land where our Preschool is situated. We will listen to a sorry day story, the runaway damper man story , read stories of contemporary culture , play games and celebrate the Aboriginal flag utilising Aunty Wendys song ‘red. black and yellow’.
I will encourage the other teachers at our centre to celebrate also.
